Aromatherapy massage – what is it?

Using a blend of essential oils for a massage is called aromatherapy massage. Body or part body massage is the most effective way to use essential oils but note the essential oils need to be blended in carrier oil. I use customised blend of essential oils for each massage treatment in Roscommon and Athlone. For example I might blend Bergamot, Frankincense and Ylang Ylang in a carrier oil for some who feels like their immune system is struggling and they are in a heighten state of anxiety or suffering from panic attacks. The blend is absorbed into the persons system and continues to work after the massage treatment creating feelings of calm and well being.

The time taken for the essential oils to pass around the body is dictated by the individual metabolic rate. i.e. children will react quicker to oils than adults.
